Craftsman Training Scheme [CTS] is a main / foundation scheme of all ITIs. Various trades of various duration like COPA, Electronics Mechanic, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Mech. Refrigeration & AC, Electrician are running under this scheme

Trade Testing And Certification :
All-India Trade Tests are conducted by the DGET, under the aegis of the National Council for Vocational Training in every six months i.e in January/February & July/August every year for various examinations.
Trade Testing And Certification :
All-India Trade Tests are conducted by the DGET, under the aegis of the National Council for Vocational Training in July and January every year for various examinations, please see Schedule of Exams.
The trainees of affiliated Institutes/ trades appears in the trade tests. National Trade Certificates are awarded to the successful candidates. For details, please see Eligibility to appear in All India Trade Test.
National Trade certificate is a recognised qualification for recruitment to relevant posts and services in Central/State Government establishments as well as in private & corporate sectors and industries.

Objectives :
- To provide semi-skilled/skilled workers to industry by systematic training to school leavers.
- To reduce unemployment among educated youth by equipping them with suitable skills for industrial employment.
Salient Features :
- Training is imparted in 04 engineering and 01 non-engineering trades.
- The trades are affiliated to Director General of Employment & Training (DGET) as per the norms.
- Trade training is conducted as per the curriculum prescribed by National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT).
- The admission to the new courses are made in the month of August every year.
- The trainees after competition of the training period are required to appear in the All India Trade Test conducted under the aegis of National Council for Vocational Training. The successful trainees are awarded National Trade Certificate which has been recognized by Govt. of India, all State Governments and public/private industrial establishments for the purpose of recruitment to various posts and services.
- About 70% of the training period is allotted to practical training and the rest to theoretical training relating to Trade theory, Workshop Calculation & Science, Engineering Drawing, Employablity Skills including environmental science, family welfare.
- Syllabi of various trades are periodically revised to keep pace with changing technology in industry
